During our third lesson we learnt about HTML. The HTML is used to create a webpage. We had to follow a certain format to make the webpage, there was the head, title and body. There are many different HTML tags that are used, some tags are used to paragraph, make a horizontal line and many other things. We were given a piece of homework, we had to make a webpage using the HTML. I find the HTML very interesting and advanced. I didn’t know that we were able to create webpage just like that. Although I’m not that familiar with the HTML tags, I tried my best to memorise them, so that if I ever need to make a webpage, the tags will be at my fingertips. I really enjoy learning how to create a webpage. I hope everyone will learn and try to make a webpage too!

the second post
During our lesson we learnt about the Social Web, Intellectual Property, Blog/Website. Hwa Chong Institution Infocomm Studies The social web allows us to communicate and keep in touch. There are many social networking sites that allows us to do these things, some examples are Facebook, Twitter and My Space. Social networking sites also allow us to find jobs and make new friends. Intellectual Property is copyright material. Copyrights protects someone’s original work, it prevents other people from copying someone’s work. I feel everyone should observe copyright protection, if we want to take parts of other people’s work we should ask for permission from the owner and give credit to the source. I hope everyone will follow the copyrights laws and does not plagiarise others work. I have decided that a blog is better than a website. A blog can be set up in just minutes and is really simple. But a website has to take a little longer to set up. If you would like to just share your emotions and feelings, a blog will be enough. Well… if you’re the type of person who likes to add many different types of stuff on to a website then a website would be better. In my opinion, blogs are much easier to use. To end this post, I find social networking sites and blogs are really useful and fun. I hope everyone will try to set up a blog or a social networking account.

My First IS Lesson: The Internet & WWW
We learnt about the internet and its different uses during our first lesson. The internet was used to allow scientists to share information at different locations. The internet has many different services, there are services that allow people to interact with each other and others that allow people to search for information.
Now.....what about WWW? What does it stand for? Well..... It stands for "World Wide Web", it is a collection of of electronic documents which are called web pages. Web pages can contain text, videos, graphics, sounds and links to other websites. There are many different web browsers such as, Internet Explorer, Safari and Mozilla Firefox. A web browser is a programme which allows you to view web pages. There are other programmes on the internet for entertainment, business, news, education and many other things. I think the first lesson was very interesting and I hope to gain more knowledge from other lessons in the future.
